With nutrition concerns becoming more important to most Americans, the nation’s health care providers, including nurse practitioners, physicians assistants and dietitians as well as doctors and pharmacists, are constantly seeking new information about diet and health. NTA’s writers and nutrition spokespersons, all of whom have education credentials as well as years of health and nutrition experience, have worked with many of these health professional groups, delivering to them scientific information on behalf of numerous food industries. We work with professional newsletters and member journals to place articles and updates on health and nutrition studies. Nutrition Conferences Working with leading academics in both the United States and around the world, as well as a third party affiliated with a leading university, NTA executed two very successful Health and Nutrition Conferences, designed to summarize and publicize existing health and nutrition information for a particular food industry. For the International Tree Nut Council in 2000, NTA produced a day-long conference bringing together leading researchers who presented new and existing information on the health benefits of tree nut consumption. Corresponding media outreach landed news from the conference on the pages of Newsweek magazine and in numerous daily newspapers. In 2006, for the National Beer Wholesalers Association, NTA produced a day-long health professional conference presenting research on the potential health effects of moderate beer consumption. A corresponding video news release and radio media tour further publicized the proceedings of the symposium. |
